About Me

I'm Jason Parrish...husband of an amazing woman, introvert living as an extrovert (exhausting), and author. My stories, written from a Christian perspective, combine a love of scripture, fascination with the human psyche, and desire to better understand the supernatural as it relates to both. Years
of small town southern living bleed into my characters and settings. Sprinkle in a peculiar interest in the macabre, and you have a treat too bitter for some, too sweet for others.
My bookshelves house multiple works by Ted Dekker, Frank Peretti, Stephen King, C.S. Lewis, J.R. Tolken, Tosca Lee, John Grisham, and Dean Koontz. I love killer first lines and realistic villains. Jarring plot twists and hidden meanings make me smile.

I do not love long sentences of flowery words that, like a meandering garden path, lead to a pile of beautiful roses at the end of the rainbow. I don't hate roses, rainbows, or exquisite prose but give me dialog that reads true. Introduce me to characters with real life problems and demons. Sometimes the bad guy gets away with the girl, and the roses die. Show me an author who shows me this, and we've got something to chat about.
